One of the main sources for job listings in St. Charles County and throughout Missouri is the state-wide employment data base available through the Missouri Career Source, a service of the Missouri Department of Economic Development – Division of Workforce Development.
Through the Missouri Career Source, job seekers can search employing listings and post their resumes. Employers can also list their openings and utilize human resource services available from state and county workforce departments. And professionals can learn about seminars and other resources to continue developing their workforce skills.
At the same time, St. Charles County has a long history of entrepreneurship. Labor statistics show as many as 75% or more of all local companies have less than 10 employees. It’s not uncommon to hear how many of these successful firms started as a part-time endeavor or grew out of an idea in the garage or spare bedroom at home.
When it comes to starting a new business to create employment for yourself or others, some of the best resources in Missouri are ready to assist in St. Charles County. Free business counseling is available from the Missouri Small Business Technology and Development Center (SBTDC) and the office of SCORE, both located in the EDC facility in St. Peters. Regular seminars and training options are also offered throughout the community for aspiring business owners.
