St. Charles County never fails to impress long-time residents, newcomers and visitors to the area.
Currently St. Charles County boasts more than 23,000 acres of public parkland. This total includes more than 50 municipal parks, extensive trail systems, nine county parks with more than 2,000 acres of passive recreation and camping sites, and recreational facilities such as the Family Arena in
St. Charles, the St. Peters Rec-Plex, the Renaud Spirit Center in O’Fallon and the Ozzie Smith Sports Complex with T.R. Hughes Ballpark.
Two of the largest recreational treasures in St. Charles County are the Missouri Katy Trail, which begins its
225-mile trek across the state from the riverfront in historic St. Charles, and the August A. Busch Memorial Conservation Area, a 7,000-acre sanctuary along Highway 40/I-64 and South Highway 94 which is perfect for those who love hunting, fishing and enjoying the outdoors.
