When EDC small business incubator tenant Jamie Queen founded Just Glo Network in 2018, the registered nurse and entrepreneur wasn’t setting out to disrupt an industry, but that’s exactly what she did.
After years of working as an ER nurse, Jamie transitioned to a med spa setting, but quickly became disillusioned by the industry’s sales-driven mindset. “I wanted to care for my clients, not sell to them,” she said. With a physician partner’s support, she set out on her own, driven by a simple mission: to make medical aesthetic procedures like Botox and dermal fillers more patient-centered and accessible.
Just two months later, Jamie faced a major challenge — a noncompete lawsuit from her former employer that forced her to start over from home. What could have been a setback turned into an opportunity. “The silver lining was no overhead,” she said. “It allowed me to lower my prices, and my business grew rapidly when word of mouth started to spread.”
That grassroots growth laid the foundation for what would become a multi-company enterprise now headquartered in St. Charles County. Today, Just Glo Network connects more than 300 providers nationwide, giving nurses the clinical training, business tools, and resources to start and sustain their own practices. At its core, the network empowers qualified RNs, APRNs, and other practitioners to transition their careers into the aesthetics industry while operating their own independent aesthetic medicine businesses. By leveraging the size and scale of the Just Glo Network, nurses gain a cost-effective, powerful pathway into medical aesthetics.
“The Uber of Aesthetics”
Jamie calls Just Glo “the Uber of aesthetics” — a platform that gives nurses the foundation and freedom to operate independently. “Nurses are natural empaths, but many struggle with the business side,” she explained. “We provide not just clinical education but also business management tools, compliance support, and access to products and licensing.”
In addition to Just Glo’s training and provider network, the company operates as a licensed drug distributor, allowing it to ship medical products across state lines. Jamie also owns a training company and management firm to help oversee relationships between doctors and nurses, ensuring compliance and continuity across the network.
“There’s nothing like us in the industry,” she said. “When I started, people didn’t understand what I was doing, but we were really opening up the market, empowering nurses, and making aesthetics more accessible for clients. At the heart of it all is our clients.”
Growing in St. Charles County
Though Just Glo has a national footprint, its heart remains in Cottleville and the St. Charles County EDC. Jamie’s businesses operate out of the EDC’s shared office space, which she says has been instrumental in her growth.
“The month-to-month lease keeps overhead low, and everything I need is right there,” Jamie said. “Having access to conference rooms and the EDC’s resources has made it easy to run multiple businesses under one roof.”
Jamie describes St. Charles County as one of the best places to launch and grow a small business. “The community is incredibly supportive,” she said. “It’s affordable, family-friendly, and full of people who genuinely want to see local businesses succeed. You don’t see that kind of support in every county.”
Looking Ahead
As Just Glo continues to expand, Jamie’s next goal is national licensing, with Kansas and Texas as early targets. She recently hired a business advisor and launched her first paid digital advertising campaign, a big step after years of relying solely on word-of-mouth referrals.
“When you first start, you wear every hat yourself,” she said. “Then you bring in family and friends to help. Eventually, you have to bring in professionals who specialize in each part of the business — that’s when you really start to scale.”
With her innovative business model, empowering leadership, and deep roots in St. Charles County, Jamie Queen is not only changing the face of aesthetics — she’s redefining what it means to build a business that helps others shine.
