Borrower Spotlight: True Scale Blueprints Brings Construction Plans to Life in St. Charles County

Published Wednesday, February 25, 2026

When Brandon Bowlby and Tom Stuckey set out to launch True Scale Blueprints, they weren’t just opening another construction-related business — they were introducing an entirely new way to experience design, collaboration, and community.  Located in O’Fallon, True Scale Blueprints is a dual-purpose venue that blends cutting-edge construction technology with a flexible event space designed to serve both industry professionals and the broader St. Charles County community.

Walking Through the Future of Construction

At the heart of True Scale Blueprints is a service unlike anything else in the region: a 1,200-square-foot LED floor that lets users walk through construction plans at true 1:1 scale. Paired with a 22-foot-by-13-foot HD projection wall, the space creates a fully immersive experience for general contractors, architects, interior designers, pool contractors, landscapers, and other construction professionals.
Plans are projected directly beneath your feet — no shadows, no guessing — so teams and homeowners can walk their floor plans before construction begins. Designers can plug in their laptops and make live edits on the spot, helping clients visualize layouts, elevations, and finishes in real time.

The goal is simple but powerful: catch problems before they become costly change orders. With industry averages showing change orders can add 10–20% to a construction budget, True Scale helps teams collaborate more effectively and make confident decisions early in the process.

A Space Designed for the Community

Beyond blueprints and builds, True Scale Blueprints also operates as a versatile event venue. The space can transform for daddy-daughter dances, birthday parties, gender reveals, game nights, sporting events, micro weddings, and corporate gatherings.

Rooted in St. Charles County

Both co-founders have deep ties to the area. Tom Stuckey has lived in St. Charles County since 2011 and also operates Eagle Eye Builder Group, which shares the same building as True Scale. Eagle Eye has served Wentzville and O’Fallon since 2019.
Brandon Bowlby moved to O’Fallon in 2002 and founded BRS Painting in 2009. He currently lives in Wentzville and remains highly engaged in the local business community through chambers of commerce, networking groups, and charitable initiatives.
“St. Charles County is a great place to live, work, and play,” the founders say. “There’s a strong focus on families, good schools, lower taxes, and a government that listens to residents.”

Growing with Purpose

True Scale signed its lease in March 2025 and spent the next six months building out the space and installing its signature 1,200-square-foot LED floor. To help finance the project, Brandon and Tom partnered with the EDC on an SBA 504 loan — a long-term, fixed-rate option that allowed them to focus on building the business without worrying about fluctuating costs.

Since then, the company has been operating in a soft opening phase, welcoming customers for demos and spreading the word about what the space can offer.
Looking ahead, their vision is to see the space fully booked — construction walkthroughs during the day, community and corporate events in the evenings and on weekends — all while continuing to grow their footprint in the region.

True Scale Blueprints represents the kind of innovation and community investment that makes St. Charles County a destination for entrepreneurs and growing businesses. The founders credit the area’s strong demand, supportive business environment, and engaged residents for making their vision possible — and they encourage new business owners to take time planning, seek out local resources, and lean into the support available through organizations like the EDC.

As they continue to grow, Brandon and Tom hope the community will help spread the word about True Scale Blueprints and the unique experience it offers — not just for builders, but for anyone looking to gather, celebrate, and create memories in a one-of-a-kind space.
