To confront the threat of COVID-19 transmission around the St. Louis region, a new public health order requires bars and restaurants in St. Charles County to close by 11 p.m. each day, beginning 12:01 a.m. Wednesday, November 25, until otherwise rescinded. Click here for more information.

There is a strong and nationally recognized entrepreneurial ecosystem in metro St. Louis, and St. Charles County is part of that success helping startups take off, grow and succeed.

One of the facilities in the local community specifically designed to help startups and diverse small businesses flourish and thrive is the 60,000-square-foot EDC Incubator in St. Peters, with office suites, warehouse and flex space, shared conference rooms and front desk support.

The other location is the 10,000-square-foot OPO Startups, a co-working center for digital startups that opened in 2015 after extensive renovations to the “Old Post Office” building in Historic St. Charles.

Free business counseling and workshops are offered to those interested in starting a new company along with small and mid-sized companies through the Missouri Small Business Development Center (SBDC) housed in the EDC.

In light of all the support in the community for entrepreneurs, it is no surprise that St. Charles County is regularly listed as one of the top Missouri counties for new business startups on an annual basis.
