Business Development Officer
Job Summary
The Business Development Officer (BDO) is responsible for developing, originating, and facilitating SBA 504 loan opportunities throughout the region. The BDO serves as the primary relationship manager for banks, business owners, and other referral partners seeking long-term fixed-rate financing solutions through the SBA 504 Program.

Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with banks, small business owners, and other referral sources.
- Generate a consistent pipeline of SBA 504 loan opportunities through networking, presentations, and referral source development.
- Conduct regular lender calls, visits, and educational presentations regarding SBA 504 financing.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for referral partners and borrowers throughout the financing process.
- Identify, structure, and develop eligible SBA 504 financing opportunities involving owner-occupied commercial real estate, machinery, equipment, construction, expansion, and business acquisition projects.
- Assist lenders and borrowers in determining project eligibility, financing structures, and SBA 504 program requirements.
- Review borrower financial information, project costs, and eligibility requirements to determine financing feasibility.
- Gather documentation and prepare complete SBA 504 loan application packages.
- Coordinate with lenders, borrowers, appraisers, environmental professionals, title companies, and other third-party providers to facilitate project approval and closing.
- Present financing proposals and commitment letters to borrowers and lending partners.
- Develop strong relationships with SBA District Office personnel and lending partners.
- Represent the organization at banking, business, industry, and community events to promote SBA 504 financing solutions and increase market awareness.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Marketing, or related field preferred.
- Minimum three (3) years of commercial lending, SBA lending, business banking, or related experience.
- Demonstrated success in developing commercial lending opportunities and referral source relationships.
- Knowledge of commercial real estate lending and business financial analysis.
- Strong understanding of SBA loan programs, preferably SBA 504 financing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous SBA 504 lending experience.
- Experience working for a bank, credit union, CDC, or SBA lending institution.
- Proven track record of generating and funding $10 million or more annually in SBA, commercial real estate, or commercial loan production.
- Established relationships within the regional banking and business community.
Pay:
$80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
